Another week has passed, and we’ve stepped into May. The weather was unusually hot for spring, so I had to water all the young plants to help them start growing—this also encouraged the seeds to germinate.
I dried the cut grass and used it as mulch in all the containers, even the ones without plants or seeds. Mulched soil stays moist longer and keeps cool, which is essential now. I refreshed the cover on some containers, this will last for about 2 or 3 more weeks.

Spinach loves the sun, but not extreme heat. I hope it will still develop healthy leaves.
The salads look fine—some clearly love their spot. Next week is expected to be a bit cooler, which should help them grow even better.

The onions are finally peeking out! I’m really curious to see how big the bulbs will get in containers—I like these varieties a lot.

All in all, I’m satisfied with this week’s progress. Let’s roll on to the next one!
I always feel relaxed when my Kangal is near the pots—she’s the best pest deterrent I could ask for.
